Visits to Thomas’s Daheim give every pupil unrivalled opportunities and experiences outdoors. They develop invaluable life skills in this safe and secure environment of outstanding natural beauty, far away from their everyday lives.
Thomas’s Daheim (which means Thomas’s At Home) is in Wurzeralm near the Kalkalpen National Park in Austria and has been visited by Thomas’s pupils for more than 25 years. The centre offers outdoor pursuits and skiing in winter and spring and it is also an ideal base in summer to explore the beautiful mountain landscape and to visit the historical area of Spital am Pyhrn and the picturesque town of Windischgarsten.
Our teaching staff lead these exciting trips and care for our pupils. The children are taught skiing and other winter sports by qualified instructors. They enjoy raft-building, astronomy, snow-shoeing, bushcraft and night walks. They explore the spectacular scenery, discover ancient rock formations and observe local flora and fauna. Trips to Thomas’s Daheim are an unforgettable part of a Thomas’s education.
